"Silica gel" is a spherical desiccant with extensive adsorption properties due to chemical and physical adsorption. Its structure consists of closely packed fine particles of silicon dioxide that form a continuous network of tiny pores. Additionally, silica gel is made of highly pure (over 99%) silicon dioxide, which is chemically safe and non-toxic.
